Fyodor Dostoevsky on why science's ass should be amputated and burned.

Now we do think bloodshed abominable and yet we engage in this abomination, and with more energy than ever. Which is worse? Decide that for yourselves. They say that Cleopatra (excuse an instance from Roman history) was fond of sticking gold pins into her slave-girls' breasts and derived gratification from their screams and writhings. You will say that that was in the comparatively barbarous times; that these are barbarous times too, because also, comparatively speaking, pins are stuck in even now; that though man has now learned to see more clearly than in barbarous ages, he is still far from having learnt to act as reason and science would dictate. But yet you are fully convinced that he will be sure to learn when he gets rid of certain old bad habits, and when common sense and science have completely re-educated human nature and turned it in a normal direction. You are confident that then man will cease from intentional error and will, so to say, be compelled not to want to set his will against his normal interests. That is not all; then, you say, science itself will teach man (though to my mind it's a superfluous luxury) that he never has really had any caprice or will of his own, and that he himself is something of the nature of a piano-key or the stop of an organ, and that there are, besides, things called the laws of nature; so that everything he does is not done by his willing it, but is done of itself, by the laws of nature. Consequently we have only to discover these laws of nature, and man will no longer have to answer for his actions and life will become exceedingly easy for him. All human actions will then, of course, be tabulated according to these laws, mathematically, like tables of logarithms up to 108,000, and entered in an index; or, better still, there would be published certain edifying works of the nature of encyclopaedic lexicons, in which everything will be so clearly calculated and explained that there will be no more incidents or adventures in the world.

Of course boredom may lead you to anything. It is boredom sets one sticking golden pins into people, but all that would not matter. What is bad (this is my comment again) is that I dare say people will be thankful for the gold pins then. Man is stupid, you know, phenomenally stupid; or rather he is not at all stupid, but he is so ungrateful that you could not find another like him in all creation.

Which basically means that we won't be better people if we learn about who we are as animals because our will and nature as animals won't change.

So you think for a while and realize that you'll still die. If you're not thinking at all, im not sure why you're alive.

Put this in your pipe and smoke that shit

The feeding frenzy of my starving soul, gnawing voraciously at the bones,
the exo-skeletal patchwork protecting my own reflection within;
The twin-and-same engaged in the mirrored act of chewing away
at the shell of my attacking self. The paradox unseen

Treacherous this deceit to make no choice matter
To have and yet lose yourself, until finally all reasons why are forgotten
To live through ones own shadow. Mute and blinded, is to really see
Eclipse the golden mirror and the reflection is set free

The frustrated youth deserve not their frustrations

Well I am a one man rent strike
and your couch is my picket line
Well I'm eating acid for breakfast
and puking all over the sidewalk this time
But mostly I'm just full of shit
in a world that's already filled up with that
So if Aaron makes it to space then I ain't coming back
Well I am an artist if that means that there's a cigarette in my mouth
Well I'm a punk rocker if that means that I
smell pretty bad right now
But mostly I'm just kinda crazy
in a world full of sadness and pain
We waited there in the yard but the train never came

We have to stop pretending to be rich

I realize i'll sound like a hipster or some anti-conformist, pretty much am, who hates all corporations and whatever, but we really need to stop embracing these ideals and lifestyles perpetuated by people who don't have many things to worry about. ANd if they do worry a lot, they sure as hell aren't worrying about having the right amount of money like the average family or individual over the age of 18 in America is. They're just living their life like its a movie, which is the only place they learn how to love life. What rich people sit in silence on a sunday afternoon and really try to understand life? Better yet, what happy person does that? Not many. Fact of the matter is, most people have to keep trying over and over to understand life because its either changing constantly or putting them through more and more bullshit thats unavoidable and substantially depressing.

ANd we have to acknowledge that depression. We can't build from a problem unless we know what the fuck we're missing. Unless we know what the fuck we want. Unless we know that we all want and are missing virtually the same things. Then and only then can we come together, truly understand one another, and stop accepting the forceful transferring of ideals to us from people who WON'T live lives full of worry like the average person does.

Which leads me back to my original point, corporations and businesses only want your money. They'll sell you what you need but they only want you to buy it. I'm sure research could provide many examples showing how apathetic the leaders of a company you support often has bullshitted its way out of harming or neglecting people who deserve more. They just want your cash, not your well being.

So if we're going to truly liberate ourselves and start feeling like we own our bodies and will, instead of being bound by desire to places and things we don't need, we have to stop pretending we're rich. We have to stop acting like a party is the fucking end and beginning of our world, simultaneously ending our stress, though it'll end and return us to our stress. We have to accept the fact that we can't afford those unnecessary expensive cars and be glad we can get one that can drive us between people we love or places we love. We have to stop buying a bunch of fucking clothes that only contribute to other economies more than our own and give more money to companies that don't even give a shit about their employees. We have to stop looking at those idiots in mansions as people living a life so differently from ours, its worth achieving. It is different, but its not better. Its just another.

And lastly, we have to realize the commonalities we all share that don't set us apart. We have to let fucking go of our attachments to race and appearance and even beliefs, because we all want somewhere to sleep and something to eat. Maybe even someone to love. But we'll keep fighting each other and disappointing each other if we think there is an ideal way of living that isn't based on minor necessities and pure relativity to your fellow human being.
